Terms of use

Last updated 25 October 2026

These are the rules for using OrbitLab. By using the site you agree to them. If you are under 18, read them with a parent, guardian or teacher.

Who runs OrbitLab

OrbitLab is run by Mohammad AlYasfo. You can reach us through the contact page.

Using OrbitLab

  • OrbitLab is free for learning and teaching, at home or in a classroom, and you do not need an account.
  • Please do not try to break or overload the site, get around its protections, copy it wholesale with automated tools, or use it to harm anyone.

Accuracy and safety

We work to keep the astronomy right, and each page says where a picture or a model is simplified. Even so, OrbitLab is for learning: do not rely on it for navigation, spaceflight or any decision where a mistake could cause harm.

Never look at the Sun directly, or through a telescope, binoculars or a camera, without a proper solar filter. That includes during an eclipse.

Images, sounds and lessons

Photographs, sounds and data come from NASA, ESA, the Event Horizon Telescope, LIGO and other sources. Each stays under its owner's licence and is credited.

The lessons, text, design and code of OrbitLab belong to its operator, named above. You are welcome to use them for your own learning and in your classroom. For anything else, such as republishing them, ask us first.

No guarantee

OrbitLab is provided as it is. We cannot promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes, and as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using it.

Changes and questions

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
